Want to adopt a
precious Little Angel of your own? The
Fun Stuff How to Adopt a Pug Thanks for
your interest in adopting a Pug. When you take a Pug into your home, you are
looking forward to years of Pug love, Pug hugs and Pug kisses. Please keep in mind when you consider adopting a Pug that they are the most loving and affectionate of dogs. They require lots of attention and human companionship. If that's what you're looking for in a pet, then a Pug is the dog for you! Adoption is easy, but there are a few requirements: 1. Attend a Little Angels Pug
Rescue Adoption Fair. Visit with
our Pugs available for adoption to see if there is one who seems like a good
match for you.
After
the interview, you will be contacted by a Little Angels Volunteer to
schedule a Home Visit. Why is that necessary? you may ask.
We want to make sure that there are no hazardous situations in your home which
would endanger your new family addition. If we find any problems, we can
make recommendations and give you time to make corrections if necessary. Why is it such a hassle? It's not meant to be, it's meant to assure that your new Pug will be safe and cared for in his or her new home. The process is the result of a series of lessons learned through a large number of adoptions. Our only concern is for the well-being of our Little Angels and that years of happy companionship are assured for you and your new family member. The
Serious Stuff - Your
Obligations in Adopting a Pug Adopting
a Pug is a lifetime proposition. The average life span of a Pug is 15 years.
Please do not consider adoption if you will not be able to meet this very
important commitment. Pugs
can have potentially expensive health problems with their eyes and skin. Most
dogs, including Pugs, are prone to joint problems and arthritis as they age.
If you're thinking about adoption, consider the impact on your budget before
you make your decision. Little
Angels Pug Rescue reserves the right to make periodic home visits to our
adopted Pugs. If you move, you must notify Little Angels of your new address.
If you are uncomfortable with this arrangement, adoption may not be for you. If
for any reason you are unable to keep the Pug you have adopted, he or she must
be returned to Little Angels Pug Rescue, not given to your Aunt Frannie or
your next-door neighbor Joe. The
contract you sign when you adopt is a legal document and will be enforced to
the full extent of the law. In the past, the average judgment by the courts
against parties violating adoption contracts has been $1,000 and up.
The
Green Stuff - The
Adoption Donation The
minimum donation we suggest for our Pugs is based on their age. When the Pug's
exact age is unknown, our vet estimates age. Your
donation helps Little Angels cover the cost of spaying or neutering, DHLPP,
Corona and Bordatella inoculations, other medical expenses and impound fees
for your Pug.
Your
donation is tax-deductible and goes towards not only the care of your Pug, but
all of the Pugs rescued by Little Angels. We rescue Pugs regardless of age or
physical condition and many come to us in need of costly veterinary care. When
making a donation, you are supporting Little Angels in its mission of making
sure every Pug has a loving home. If you are concerned solely with price,
going through a rescue group is probably not the right choice for you. PLEASE NOTE:
All adoption donations must be made in the form of cash or a money order.
